Variations may be run from any location, but not all of the media are accessible to the public. Below is a list of how different media can be accessed.

  1. Public domain media (mostly scores) are accessible from anywhere.
  2. Nearly all media are accessible from computers in the Music Library. For exceptions, see below.
  3. Media digitized from an instructor's personal collection are only available to members of a class for which the item has been placed on reserve.
  4. Access to Variations from computers outside of the Music Library is determined according to the courses in which you are enrolled. If any of your courses have Variations recordings or scores on reserve (see http://www.dlib.indiana.edu/variations/reserves/), or if one of your instructors has made a request to the Director of the Cook Music Library for the class to have access, then you will be able to listen to or view items in Variations from computers outside of the Music Library.

If you are not enrolled in any classes for which reserve items exist or for which your instructor has requested Variations access, then for copyright reasons, you will not be able to listen to recordings or view scores in Variations from computers outside of the Music Library.
